Choosing new countertops is an exciting part of updating your home, but you may have questions about what happens after you select your stone. At Marble Valley Stone, we want to make the process as smooth and simple as possible! Here’s what you can expect from choosing your slab to installation day.
1. Choose Your Stone
Every great countertop project starts with finding the right stone for your home. Visit our showroom and outdoor stone lot to explore the options available. Our team will help answer your questions, discuss your project, and help you find a stone that fits your vision.
Not sure which material or color is right for you? We’re happy to help you explore your options!
2. Schedule Your Free Measurement
Once you’ve chosen your stone, the next step is scheduling your free measurement. We take our own measurements to ensure your countertops are made to fit your space.
Before measuring, your cabinets must be installed and securely in place. They don’t necessarily need to be painted or completely finished, but they do need to be ready to support your new countertops. You can be present for the appointment, or simply make sure our team has access to the area.
3. Finalize Your Details
After measuring, we’ll work with you on the next steps, including your deposit and the details needed to begin fabrication. A 50% deposit is required to get the process started.
This is also the time to think about your sink and other countertop details. If you’re bringing your own sink, we’ll need a template so the correct opening can be cut. If you don’t have a sink yet, we offer three stainless steel sink options to choose from.
Have questions about faucets or other options for your project? Stop by and talk with our team! We’ll be happy to help you understand what’s available.
4. Fabrication and Preparation
Once your measurements, deposit, and necessary project details are finalized, we begin fabricating your countertops. This is where your selected stone is prepared and cut to fit your space.
Our typical turnaround time is 7–10 business days, depending on the stone, project, and schedule. We’ll coordinate with you to arrange an installation date once your countertops are ready.
5. Get Ready for Installation Day
A little preparation goes a long way! Before installation, make sure your cabinets are securely in place and the installation area is accessible.
If you have existing countertops that need to be removed, you have two options: you can remove them yourself before installation, or ask Marble Valley Stone about having them removed for an additional charge based on the square footage of your project.
Please also arrange to have the water shut off as needed before installation. Marble Valley Stone installs countertops and sinks, but we do not provide plumbing services, so plumbing disconnections and reconnections must be handled separately.
Clearing the surrounding work area can also help make installation day go more smoothly.
6. Enjoy Your New Countertops!
On installation day, our team will bring your countertops into your home and install them in place. We’ll coordinate the appointment with you so you know when to expect us.
Once everything is installed, it’s time to enjoy your updated space! Your new countertops are an exciting addition to your home, and we want you to feel confident throughout the entire process.
At Marble Valley Stone, we’re happy to help you from selecting your slab to completing your installation.
Ready to get started? Visit our showroom, explore our stone selection, and talk with our team about your project. We’re here to help you take the next step toward your new countertops!
